Vietnam banned Red - eared turtle

The institute of Vietnam banned on the import of the red-eared turtle that is harmful to local ecosystems. This turtle eats a variety of animals and plants such as fish, snails, crickets and plankton.

The Aquatic Institute checks on imports of aquatic animals such as the red-eared turtle, and will announce the list of harm aquatic animals by the end of the year. They will make rules to manage imported aquatic animals. If someone doesn't follow the rules, they will fine you VND20 million (US$1,050). They will re-export thousands of red-eared.

There are a lot of red-eared turtles at many shops in major cities, so it is hard to control the amount of turtles. Therefore, they will eliminate the turtles from local rivers.

In my opinion, If they don't eliminate the turtles, it will increase and hard to control. The environment of the river will be bad.
